We Have Your Back

It's a fact: Most patients who experience even chronic back or neck pain may not need spine surgery. At our practice, we emphasize conservative treatments first.

Charlie Wispert, PA-C, an integral part of the spine specialists team, provides the initial consultation and screening for spine problems and referral for surgical consultation when necessary.

During this consultation, we will discuss your history, conduct a physical exam and review imaging, which may include an X-ray and an MRI. Conservative treatments may include referrals to therapy and exercise, medications or injections.

Surgical Treatments Available Only Here

Complex spine surgery can cover a wide range of techniques. Our program uses a very individualized approach to map out the spine surgery that will provide you with the optimum result. Our surgeries include:

  • Minimally invasive procedures
  • Major reconstructive surgeries
  • Surgical revisions
  • Pediatric surgeries

As chief of spine surgery and director of the Augusta University Spine Fellowship, Dr. John DeVine is a nationally recognized, fellowship-trained and double board-certified spine surgeon with more than a decade of experience in spine reconstructive surgery.

All spine surgeries take place at the Augusta University Health Medical Center, 1120 15th St., Augusta, GA 30912.
