The Rehabilitative Services Department at Augusta University Health is committed to providing optimum patient satisfaction through Patient- and Family-Centered Care by:

  • Seeking to optimize the function and independence of our patients through effective and cost efficient rehabilitative services.
  • Striving to provide collaboration and education for our patients and their families and building a support system through interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Aiming for excellence through continual quality improvement, education and research.

Patients come to us for rehabilitative services with the goal of being able to return to, or continue with, daily life activities. Our medical rehabilitative services often work collaboratively, creating individualized treatment plans for each patient.  The ultimate objective is to help patients keep their functionality, get back functions they have lost, or improve functions that are in decline. Our subspecialties include:

  • Audiology: Our audiologists focus on hearing health through testing, treatment and prevention of hearing loss and other related disorders.
  • Speech/Language Pathology: Patients see our pathologists to get assessment and treatment for speech, language and swallowing disorders.
  • Physical Therapy: We offer inpatient physical therapy for patients who are experiencing pain or abnormal physical function with movement.
  • Occupational Therapy: Our OTs work with patients to develop, regain, or maintain normal, or close to normal, functionality needed to perform everyday tasks.
