I am a general surgeon who recently joined Augusta University as an Instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology and Endocrine Surgery Fellow. My wife and I grew up in Augusta and am happy to be coming back to treat patients in this community.
I am a general surgeon with a practice focused on thyroid and parathyroid disease. I also have a clinical interest in minimally invasive adrenalectomy, general surgery, and breast surgery.
My research focuses on differentiated thyroid cancer, health disparities, cultural perceptions of disease, and nonoperative management of less aggressive cancers.
During residency, my trauma, burn and critical care training was at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. This was one of the first and highest volume trauma centers in the country. My pediatric surgery training was at Northwestern University.
My goal is to treat all my patients as if they were members of my family.
