Dr Elshimy completed her medical school and Dermatology, Venereology and Andrology residency ( and master degree) at Ain Shams Univeristy in Egypt. She moved to the US afterward and completed her internal medicine residency training at New York Medical College then she pursued her clinical and research fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Univeristy of Arizona. She was the chief fellow during her last year of fellowship training and was the fellow representative board member of Arizona AACE chapter. After fellowship, she joined Augusta Univeristy Endocrinology division. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Medical College of Georgia. Dr Elshimy has been involved in multiple academic, scientific and educational activities. She has published more than 15 papers in peer review journals.
