I was born in Freeport Long Island, New York and grew up in Uniondale, New York. I graduated Tulane University in Louisiana before attending Medical School in Brooklyn New York. After my completion of fellowship in Philadelphia, I practiced Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology as a Locum Tenens Radiologist, before joining the Medical College of Virginia as an Interventional Radiologist on faculty. I then worked in private practice in Winter Park Florida and Spartanburg/Greenville South Carolina, before recently starting a faculty position and clinical practice here at Augusta University/ Medical College of Georgia, in the Interventional Radiology section of the Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department. I am married with 4 kids ages 33-17.
Minimally invasive medicine, particularly interventional oncology, which involves diagnosis and treatment of malignancy (cancers) using imaging guidance, catheters, needles, specialized ablative modalities of heat, cryoablation, radiation emitting beads injected into feeding arteries, vascular abnormalities including arterial occlusive disease, such as peripheral vascular disease, active arterial hemorrhage, pulmonary embolism, deep venous thrombosis, and etc. I am interested in minimally invasive procedures which enable patients to avoid surgery.
Patients are the reason why health care exists. We physicians need to remember that it is all about the patient. I believe in compassionate care with great communication. The word "doctor" means to teach and as a physician, my role is to teach the patient how to get well. I also am aware that my field isonly one branch of medicine and I need to take the ENTIRE PATIENT into consideration. I am delighted to see new patients through the Interventional Radiology Clinic: 706-721-8475
