Kevin Corbin, R.Ph. 

Kevin received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Wayne State University in 1986 and has worked in a variety of institutional pharmacy practice settings, including as a night pharmacist in Evanston Hospital (Illinois), and within MCG Health as the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Supervisor (10 years), OR Pharmacy Supervisor (2 years), lead pharmacist in the Main Pharmacy operations area and Pharmacy Operations Manager (2010-2015) before returning to the consultant pharmacist for our nursing home in spring 2015, a position he also held from 2006 to 2010.  Georgia War Veteran’s Nursing Home is a State of Georgia long-term care facility managed by the university that is accredited by both the VA and The Joint Commission.  We have been recognized during our last 2 Joint Commission accreditation surveys for exemplary pharmacy services and the value of pharmacist chart notes.  Kevin has served as both the President and Vice President of the Augusta Area Pharmaceutical Association, and taught a patient Diabetes Education class at the MCG Senior Health Center for two years.  He is a member of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists.  He is a Preceptor for a popular University of Georgia College of Pharmacy geriatrics Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) for Pharm.D. students at the nursing home. Kevin also interacts with the residents during their weekend staffing.

Patricia Knowles, R.Ph.

Pat is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and involved in state and national efforts for emergency preparedness, including as a former Team Leader on the hospital Decontamination Team and pharmacy representative on the AU Medical Center Hospital Emergency Management Committee. She is a Medical Reserve Corp volunteer for the East Central Georgia Health District and a Certified Trainer for Smallpox Vaccine Administration and Clinic Operation. She has experience in a variety of inpatient practice settings throughout the Medical Center contract and has experience in other practice settings (military hospital, rehabilitation hospital and critical access/rural hospital). In December 2014, she “retired” from a position providing consultant services at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home and now works part time, primarily in the hospital pharmacy, where she serves as a staffing preceptor. Pat is Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee and Chair of the Awards Committee for the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP). She has been on GSHP Board of Directors since 2000 serving in several capacities. She is a past President, two-term Secretary, District Director, and Ad-Hoc Emergency Preparedness Committee Chair. In 2003, she was recognized by GSHP with the Outstanding District Director Award, in 2005 with the Community Service Award and in 2007 as their Pharmacy Practitioner of the Year. Pat served on the ASHP Committee on Nominations for three terms, on the Executive Committee as Director-at-Large for the ASHP Section for Inpatient Care Practitioners 2005-2008 and is currently serving her third term as a member of the ASHP Council on Education and Workforce Development (2014-2018). She has served as a Georgia delegate for the ASHP House of Delegates for many years. Pat is also an active UGA College of Pharmacy alumni, serving as Regional Vice-President on the Alumni Council and participating in White Coat Day and Pinning ceremonies. In October 2013, Pat was honored with recognition as the GSHP Pharmacist of the Year.
