Overview
Upon completion of the residency, the pharmacist will be a competent clinical pharmacy practitioner in critical care that engages in multidisciplinary collaboration, demonstrates advanced critical thinking skills, and is able to design and implement complex medication recommendations in this fast-paced environment. Graduates of this program will be adequately prepared to practice as a critical care specialist or in academia.

Critical Care Pharmacist / Medicine Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Christy is an active member of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists (GSHP), where she is currently serving a 3-year term as co-chair of the Emerging Practitioners Development Committee; American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), where she was selected as the recipient of the 2021 Critical Care PRN (Practice & Research Network) Clinical Practitioner Award, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). In October 2021, Christy was selected at the health system level as recipient of the EAC Hospital Quality Award. This award recognizes and rewards an individual employee who makes a significant impact in the care we provide to our patients and their families by consistently promoting a culture of quality.
Christy has not only presented her own research but has precepted resident research projects at SCCM’s Annual Congress several times and was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine in February 2022. Christy’s professional and scholarly interests include medication safety in the ICU, critical care pharmacy practice advancement, electrolyte abnormalities, infectious diseases, and post-graduate critical care pharmacy residency training.
