Employee Affinity Groups

Employee affinity groups support the growth and development of workforce diversity. By providing a safe space for employees to express their interests, concerns, and identities, these groups provide direct support to AU Health in achieving its goals and strategic priorities.

At Augusta University Health, we believe valued employees create a more valuable institution for all, including our patients.

As part of the charge of the AU Health Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee, one of the key operating guidelines was the creation of an Employee Affinity Group Subcommittee to facilitate discussion of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.  

The subcommittee was formed to create a structured process in the formation of employee affinity groups. The subcommittee seeks to empower employees by providing resources necessary to start, lead, or join affinity groups.

About Affinity Groups

What is an affinity group?

Simply put, an affinity group is a group developed around a common interest or goal. Examples include veterans groups, LGBTQ groups, women's leadership groups, or disability groups.
