Nephrology and Transplant

Nephrology and Transplant at Lake Oconee is Georgia’s only non-metro Atlanta academic medical practice for patients with kidney and pancreas disorders. Set in beautiful Lake Oconee, our welcoming practice is staffed by a board-certified nephrologist and offers:

  • Comprehensive nephrology care
  • Pre-transplant screening
  • Post-transplant care and follow-up

We are part of the Augusta University Health system, which is one of only 11 kidney transplant programs in the United States to be recognized by HealthGrades with the Kidney Transplant Excellence Award.

Complicated Nephrology Clinic

Our specialized clinic focuses on providing full-service care in a pleasant and comfortable environment for patients with:

  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Kidney stones
  • Resistant hypertension
  • Blood or protein in urine
  • Other kidney ailments

Onsite radiology services, blood draws and injections ensure that you can receive all your care in one single, convenient location.

If you require dialysis, we will be glad to arrange for care at an office that is most convenient to your home or work.

Kidney Transplant

To begin the process of being evaluated for a transplant or to become a kidney donor, please contact Augusta University Health Transplant at 706-721-2888. We will review your case to ensure you meet all transplant criteria, including compliance with dialysis.

Another benefit of our Lake Oconee office is convenience for kidney patients who live outside the Augusta area: You can choose to complete all pre- and post-transplant visits at Lake Oconee. Only a pre-surgery arteriogram and your surgery will take place at Augusta University Health.

Prior to your first consultation with us, we will order your lab work so that we may review that information with you during your initial visit and begin transplant planning.
