Academic Medical Center Focus on Research and Discovery

Our Interdisciplinary Breast Research Program fosters close interaction with basic researchers and breast cancer clinicians to develop cutting edge clinical research. Through a foundation of discovery, this collaborative environment fosters innovation in breast cancer translational research to improve care and reduce the burden of cancer in the patients we serve.

Through this translation of basic science research to clinical care, we are able to offer state-of-the art clinical trials, with new treatments not available anywhere else in the region.

Supportive Care Every Step of the Way

With a dedicated supportive care team, the Georgia Cancer Center offers a wide range of supportive care services. Any of our supportive care team members are here to help, especially with some of the added emotions or anxiety that you may be experiencing during any phase of cancer care. We also provide support through our full-service Image Boutique and Breast Cancer Support Group.

Breast Cancer Genetic Counseling and Testing

Through research we know that inherited genetic factors such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 have been identified as factors that may increase one’s risk for breast cancer. We provide genetic counseling and testing for these inherited conditions.
