I was born and raised in North Carolina and have always wanted to be a doctor. During my last year of medical school, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was only 25 years old and had no family history of breast cancer. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, I eagerly went back to medical school to finally obtain my goal of becoming a surgeon. I decided beyond becoming a general surgeon, I also desired to specialize specifically in breast cancer surgery and help other women like myself. I have decided to dedicate myself to treating breast cancer. Surgically removing the disease and telling patients they are "cancer-free," is the highlight of my job. I strive to provide my patients with the most up-to-date treatments and the most advanced surgical techniques.
