Augusta University Health is partnering with the Georgia Department of Public Health to provide COVID-19 Testing to the CSRA Area. Drive-thru testing will be available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 2 PM at the Annex II, 524 15th Street, Augusta GA 30901, beginning September 1st, 2021. The department of public health will be providing COVID-19 testing Monday through
Friday from 8AM to 2PM, at the Annex II location at 524 15th street, Augusta GA 30901,
starting September 1st. Registration can be completed at the Georgia Department of Health Website*. Results will be provided via a text message and email link to the LTS patient portal.
Lab results will not be available in the AU Health VIP Patient Portal.
*Registration must be completed online via the scheduling portal, phone appointments
will not be accepted.

Screening and Testing
Should you be tested for COVID-19 if you have been exposed?
If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you don’t have to be tested right
away. Instead, quarantine yourself for 14 days and monitor your symptoms.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms reported for COVID-19 are similar to influenza and have included mild to
severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Other symptoms
include body aches, nausea, diarrhea, loss of taste and smell, or even the feeling
of passing out.
Testing Locations
The department of public health is now offering COVID-19 drive-through services for
COVID-19 testing. They currently offer NP Swab testing. Register for your COVID-19
test on the Georgia Department of Health Website, starting September 1st.
*Registration must be completed via the scheduling portal, phone appointments will
not be accepted.
Adult and pediatric patients are tested at this location.
What should I expect?
Patients are welcomed and screened at front tent
Patient drives to the back of the Annex to verify identity via driver's license or
another form of identification
Patient's vehicle is labeled with lab specimen labels under windshield wiper
Once in the garage bay, patient places their vehicle in park and turns engine off
Patient verifies name and DOB for a second time
Patient provides verbal consent
Swab test is performed
Specimen is collected and the test is completed
Results are available 24-72 hours via the VIP portal
What is a Nasal Pharyngeal (NP) Swab test?
This test will require a medical professional to swab the inside of your nose. The
test will take approximately 20 seconds and does cause mild discomfort.

In light of this, AU Health, Children's Hospital of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer
Center welcome visitors under an updated visitation policy, effective immediately.
Under the this policy:
Masks are no longer required for visitors, except in areas with high concentrations
of immunocompromised patients such as cancer treatment areas
Families, partners in care and guests are welcomed 24 hours a day, according to patient
preference
Waiting rooms are now open
No limitations are placed on in-person gatherings or meetings
Hand hygiene continues to be required upon entering the facility and all patient care
areas.
No support persons will be allowed to visit with COVID-19 patients who are on active
precautions.
