Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta

Located just steps away from the front door of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta provides a “home away from home” for families with a child receiving heart care at CHOG who live 25 miles or more away from Augusta.

Child Life Specialists

How can you make the hospital experience fun for a child? Turn to our Child Life Specialists. Specially trained in child development, child life uses medical play, coping and distraction techniques and playroom interaction to help make hospitalized children comfortable and content.

CHPVC Family Support

The nonprofit Children’s Heart Program Volunteer Council is a partner of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, providing support and helping to fund education into pediatric heart disease. A cornerstone of the organization is its Family Support Program, where heart families can connect with family support volunteers who are themselves parents of a child with a heart condition.

Camp Strong Heart

It’s always an adventure at Camp Strong Heart, a two-day, overnight camp for children and teens (ages 5 to 17) with a heart condition who receive care at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Parents can rest easy, too, knowing that the camp environment is safe and medically supervised.

The Children’s Heart Foundation-Georgia Chapter

This group of dedicated volunteers is the country’s leading organization solely committed to funding congenital heart research, advocating for heart families and promoting awareness of congenital heart defects. Since 1996, CHF has funded 62 research projects with more than $7.4 million. Chapters currently exist or are being developed in 14 states, including Georgia.
