Why Choose Us

Through our extensive experience in treating cancer patients across the region we know seeing a cancer specialist as soon as possible will help reduce the anxiety of uncertainty. Anyone can come to us; we see patients of all ages, at any stage of cancer, even those that may suspect they have cancer or have a family history. We offer patients:

  • Self referrals: Patients don't need a referral from their primary care provider to come to us, they can self-refer. Simply call and ask to speak to a Nurse Navigator. Nurse Navigators can also help with requests for a second opinion.
  • Clinical trials: Find out about gaining access to cutting-edge cancer treatments, when other treatment options are limited, through our clinical trials.
  • Helpful services:  We provide our patients with dedicated personnel to assist them in many aspects of their care. We also offer support services to our patients, as well as, easy access to parking  at our center, to make things as stress-free as possible.

Cancer Care for All

We believe in providing anyone suffering from cancer, and their healthcare providers, access to our skilled and compassionate services.  We focus on outreach to patients within our community and beyond, because not only do we want to reduce the number of cancer deaths in Georgia, we want to provide all patients the ability to improve their outcomes through groundbreaking treatments and access to clinical trials.

Partnering for Cancer Research

Georgia Cancer Center is known as the "state’s cancer center", we partner with healthcare providers, from within the state and across the region, to teach the next generation of oncology specialists.

We are team leaders in a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Community Oncology Research Program. This collaborative effort is Georgia’s only minority-focused research program, our partners include:

Blood Cancers and Disorders

When it comes to blood cancers, also known as hematologic cancers, you should see the team at the Georgia Cancer Center first because we offer the region’s only bone marrow and stem cell transplant program to treat adult leukemia, lymphoma and other types of blood cancer.

Brain and Spinal Cord Tumors

Brain and spinal cord tumors originate in the brain or spinal cord, or spread from other areas of the body to the brain. Cancer care can be complex, but our Brain Tumor Program is focused on highly specialized care with the region's only multidisciplinary clinic for patients with these tumors.

Breast Cancer

Using the most advanced diagnostic tools, including 3D mammography, we care for patients through all phases of cancer care, including diagnosis, treatment, recovery and survivorship.

Gynecologic cancer is defined as the spread of abnormal cells from various areas of the female reproductive system, including the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes. The Georgia Cancer Center's Multidisciplinary Gynecological Cancer Team cares for patients who have been diagnosed with a variety of cancers and cancer related diseases.
