Providing rapid transport for critically-ill or injured adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our dedicated, highly skilled clinical crews are available for emergency scene response and interfacility transport to the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center.

Our Mission

Through a partnership with Metro Aviation and Gold Cross EMS, our dedicated AirCare helicopter program expands our reach across GA and SC and promotes safer and rapid patient transport, including REACH and new telehealth sites in rural Georgia.

Each aircraft is staffed with a pilot and two highly trained critical care providers.  Aircraft respond to both interfacility and scene transports. Coordinated by dispatch with Gold Cross EMS and local emergency services, aircraft respond to the scene of medical emergencies to ensure rapid access to critical care.

The critical care services offered by our teams make a significant difference in patient's survival and recovery.

  • NA Rescue kits for Surgical Airway / Thoracostomy / Bleeding Control (customized kits for AirCare)
  • White Phosphorus Night Vision Goggles are worn by all crew members
  • LUCAS Device/Zoll Autopulse (pending)
The team of AirCare
  • 1 Flight Paramedic with 5+ years of high volume EMS/ CCT transports
  • 1 Flight Nurse with 3-5+ years of ER/ICU; specialized in their field.
  • All crew members currently hold a board-certified specialty certification in either flight medicine or emergency critical care.

Medical Team for Pediatric or Neonatal Patients

  • 1 Pediatric/Neonatal Specialty Respiratory Therapist
  • 1 Flight Nurse with Pediatric or Neonatal Specialty
  • Current team has been established with Children's Hospital of Georgia since early 1970’s for NICU team and 1990 for PICU team.

Call 706-721-AIR1 to request AirCare for any 911 emergency scene response or scene stand-by. Inter-facility transfer requests to AU Health or Children's Hospital of Georgia will be offered transport and arranged through the transfer center as appropriate.

Air Stand-bys are available by request and will be performed on any stand-by outside of Richmond County.
