The purpose of the Volunteen program is to utilize our community teenagers ages 15 to 18 in a meaningful way by assisting in activities that benefit patients, families and community served by Augusta University Health and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. The Volunteen program consists of three components; Summer Volunteens, After School Volunteens, and the Volunteen Board.
After School Volunteens
The After School program runs from September until May similar to the academic calendar. This is broken up into two terms. Term I is September 5 through December 16. Term II is January 9 through April 21. Teens selected to participate in this program through an interview process will have the opportunity to serve in one of a variety of departments throughout the health system.
Term I – Friday, May 27
Term II -– Friday, October 28
The application period for the 2016 Summer Volunteen program has ended. Please see the information above regarding the

The Volunteen Board is comprised of a pool of teens who have participated in our annual Volunteen program the previous Summer. Teens will gain leadership and organizational skills while learning the value of serving their community. Previous service projects that the Volunteen Board has participated in include ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, serving at the Master’s Table, and throwing a birthday party for the children at the Hope House.
