College Volunteer Program

AU Health Volunteer Services is excited to introduce a new volunteer program designed especially for college students. The College Volunteer program will be divided into fall, spring, and summer semesters, enabling college students to volunteer within the medical center during a specific semester without worrying about changing their volunteer schedule every semester as their academic schedule changes.  Applications will be accepted from July 1 to July 31 for the fall semester, October 1 to October 31 for the spring semester, and April 1 to April 30 for the summer semester.

Students selected to participate in the program each semester will have the ability to choose to volunteer in an inpatient unit, outpatient department, or administrative department. All participants will be required to complete at least one four-hour volunteer shift per week during the semester they are participating.

Any student who is an undergraduate, graduate, or medical student actively enrolled at any college or university during the semester they are applying to volunteer will be eligible to apply. Individuals who are not enrolled in a college or university but are planning on being enrolled during the semester they are applying to volunteer will also be eligible to apply for the program. Students are required to re-apply each semester and acceptance is not guaranteed following the completion of the program the previous semester. There is no limit to the number of semesters a student can apply or participate.
