Advanced Care for Brain Cancer by Skilled Neuro-oncology Team at Medical Center at Augusta University
Neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, medical neuro-oncologists and other caregivers deliver responsive, coordinated care for tumors of the brain or spinal column or neurological complications of cancer. Brain tumor and spine tumor patients are seen quickly and treated by a team of skilled and experienced neurosurgeons and oncologists in the Cancer Center.
Our expert physicians rely on advanced diagnostic equipment, including single photon computed tomography (SPECT) and stereotactic biopsy, to diagnose tumors in hard-to-reach areas of the brain. Surgical options include traditional surgery and Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for operable and inoperable tumors. Medical Center at Augusta University’s Neuro-oncology Services also integrate care with the multidisciplinary Skull Base Tumor Center.
Access to ongoing research and clinical trials

Our physicians seek medical solutions through research and innovation to improve outcomes of care. Cancer patients have access to ongoing research and clinical trials, including phase 1 trials not available at other area hospitals.
