Ways to Cure Procrastination

  • Each day, write out a list of tasks, ranking them according to what MUST be done, and what SHOULD be done.

  • Concentrate on unpleasant, must-be-done tasks first. Then, reward yourself by tackling the more pleasant, less pressing tasks.

  • Turn a dreaded task into a game. Use your creativity to invent a scoring system for completing the task's various elements.

  • Divide a major project into small parts.

  • Learn to handle paperwork quickly. The best rule is to handle each piece of paper only once. Determine whether the paper should be filed; referred to someone else; acted on now; or thrown away.
