Dr. Ciarrocca completed her undergraduate studies at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She received her D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed postdoctoral training in Oral Medicine and a master’s degree in education. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine. Prior to joining the Georgia Regents University, College of Dental Medicine (GRU CDM) faculty as an Assistant Professor with joint appointments in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation and the Diagnostic Sciences Department, Dr. Ciarrocca served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University Of Pennsylvania Department Of Oral Medicine and had a part-time private practice. She is a 2013 inductee to the GRU College of Health Educators, and a 2014 Fellow of the UAB Geriatric Faculty Scholars program. She is an author in Burket’s Oral Medicine textbook and a reviewer for Special Care in Dentistry. Dr. Ciarrocca is the 2010 winner of the GDA/ASDA Outstanding Faculty Award, the 2012 recipient of the College of Dentists Outstanding Faculty award, and the 2013 Excellence in Dental Education Award given by the Georgia Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is the faculty advisor for "Dentists for Della" which is a student run service program to improve the oral health of the residents at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. She is also a member of the Comprehensive Head and Neck Tumor Board at GRU.
